No.1 - June 2023 - Introduction and Year 1 Review
Greetings from the Tech Department!
First, I should introduce myself and my staff.
My name is Eric Padget. I am the new district Technology Coordinator. I have spentThe Padget Fam
most of the last 15 years in the same role at Baxter CSD. My wife Pam and I raised 3 awesome kids there. Brendyn is 22, getting married in June, and moving with his new wife Kaitlyn to Bolivar, MO where she will attend graduate school. Ally is 19 and just finished her freshman year at DMACC in Boone where she is studying English while serving as an assistant coach on the girl’s basketball team. My daughter Corryn just graduated from Roland-Story as part of the class of 2023.
I am joined here at RS by my assistant, Jamie Lee. Jamie is a 2000 RS graduate and a long-time employee of the district. She resides in Story City with her husband Adam and her two boys, Brody (sophomore) and Ian (6th grade).
In addition, we are assisted by 3 tech interns from ISU (Go Hawks). Kylie Neal and Sydney Carver are seniors and Jenna Wishteyah is a sophomore. They are all education majors and will make amazing teachers someday!
I am truly excited to be here and my first year has been a great one. My team and I have made a few changes since arriving:
- New network infrastructure for the district (switches, controllers, access points)
- New security camera system at the high school
- New website (coming soon)
- New phone system district-wide
- Updated audio in new gym at the high school
- Installed HS PE classroom projector and screen
- Overhaul of tech agreements and policies.
- New, more secure and safe student account policies (coming)
- Implementation of district-wide help ticket and inventory system
- New safe-room paging mics in each building
- New sound system for presentation gym at middle school (coming)
The first year has flown by! I am blessed to be at Roland-Story and part of the communities. Thank you to everyone who has helped make me feel so welcome.
Eric Padget
